Little Quilts and Friendships from Humble Quilts

This isn't my swap quilt, which must be on the slow boat from Australia, but someone I consider a dear friend made this for me, and it certainly brightened my day.

Sweet text on the back- hand quilted.
This is on my stairs landing where I can see it many times a day as I do up and down stairs.
Thank you!!  I'm feeling beyond blessed.

Here are my 2 grown children. This picture does a mamma's heart good! My son is going through some life changes and my daughter has been out of work for over ...

Humble Quilt 2020 Swap Update from Humble Quilts

This was the antique little quilt I opted to copy. It was unusual!
I coffee-dyed mine although this photo looks very bright.

I really need to take this post to say we all need to be patient when
it comes to receiving our little quilts.

International mailing: I asked those swappers who were international if there was a problem with mailing overseas. At the time, there wasn't, now there seems to be. I know one person is waiting to mail to Italy as the flights in and out of Europe are very few. I've been waiting patiently for ...

Good Morning Starshine! from Humble Quilts

I'm calling this "Good Morning Starshine"

Cecile and Bea host a challenge every year. This year the challenge was to make a quilt with at least 16 stars and have it completed before the end of May. Here is my little quilt! It is about 16" square.
My piecing was seriously humble! But I loved the neon fabric.
I have larger cut out from friends who shared some neon reproductions with me.

Here is the back. What a great print!

And here it is after a washing. The piecing doesn't look as "off" as it it did prewashed ...

Cookies and Quilts from Repro Quilt Lover

This December I posted a series of favorite cookie recipes on my Instagram page along with a quilt from my little quilt collection in each post.  It was a lot of fun picking and baking favorite cookie recipes and deciding how they coordinated with a quilt.  I am recapping them all in this post so, if you are interested in one or more recipes, you can easily access them here.

Cape Cod Toile from Humble Quilts

I finished the Cape Cod toile little quilt. Suzette, in Bend, was kind enough to share that center piece with me and this is how I chose to showcase it.
I decided I didn't really want a traditional binding so thought I'd try facing for the first time.  I saw a few different videos and chose THIS ONE to do it.
It looks a bit wobbly but it is very square- just laying on the grass isn't the best choice for a photo. It's been dark and dreary so hard to get decent lighting inside. I ...

Little Hourglass Quilt from Repro Quilt Lover

Last post, I laid out goals and a plan for getting more projects to the completion stage.  Now is when I should probably report back on those but, ahem, I’m not ready.  Okay, I’ll be honest because both the goals and the plan accomplished what I hoped they would which was sticking to the same projects long enough to make progress on all three.

quilt blocks in a tray
Three projects…contained by a box and by a plan.
  • Pink Sprinkles: I finished all the squares. That is if you call finishing 105 of 120 all the squares. I am, because the remaining ...
